Washington Sungrowers Industry Association (WSIA) was founded by Jeremy Moberg of Cannasol Farms in 2014 in response to the Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Board (WSLCB) initially proposed rules which would have disallowed outdoor cultivation of recreational cannabis in Washington State. Jeremy organized other sungrowers to educate and lobby the WSLCB to allow outdoor cultivation, opening the door for hundreds of rural cannabis farmers to transition to the taxed and regulated market place in Washington.
Later WSIA organized prospective cannabis farmers in Okanogan county to advocate for reasonable zoning ordinances for cannabis farming and also provided support to community organizers in other counties including Snohomish, Douglas, Grant, & Spokane.
